Why this super healthy kale berry smoothie for weight loss is amazing!

It’s a kale berry smoothie that tastes great!

When I was making this kale and berry smoothie for the first time I was pretty worried about whether it would taste good or not.

After all, kale has a really distinct earthy flavor, and can overwhelm other ingredients easily.

But I am happy to let you know that this kale shake recipe is great!

The sweetness of the raspberries and the chocolatey flavor of the chocolate protein powder really help to offset that strong kale flavor and create a great-tasting healthy berry smoothie.

So shed those fears of this kale drink tasting bad and trust that you will enjoy it!

It’s a healthy berry smoothie!

Sometimes people get worried about how they can be eating healthily when having smoothies because they think, “surely to get a good-tasting smoothie it can’t also be healthy?!”

Well that’s not the case, and it’s certainly not the case with this healthy berry smoothie!

This berry kale smoothie is full of great-for-you nutrients from its kale and raspberries, so you can have this kale drink safe in the knowledge you are putting great things in to your body!

Healthy raspberry smoothies for the win!

It’s a kale protein smoothie!

Coming in at 23.6g of protein, this is a kale protein smoothie that can help you to reach your protein intake goals with ease!

Those of you that have protein shakes often know that they can be really bland and boring, and something where you just have to push yourself through the drinking process!

Protein shake smoothies and high-protein smoothies really help with that problem.

When you make a protein smoothie that contains ingredients other than protein powder, you can make your protein drink taste great whilst also getting other great nutrients in!

And this kale protein shake is no different!

Once you add the chocolate protein powder and the raspberries, you’ll forget you’re drinking a protein shake at all!

If you want some other protein smoothie ideas, my daily go-to protein shake is this spinach and raspberry protein shake, and I also love this almond butter and berry weight gain smoothie!

I recommend checking this page, though, as there are a lot of protein smoothies on The Smoothie Site!

One thing to note with protein powder is that not all chocolate protein powders are created equal!

You have to get one that tastes good, as many of them have a really bland flavor.

You also need to get a high-quality protein powder.

For these reason, I like Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Double Rich Chocolate, because it’s well-liked by gym-goers, and also tastes great!

It’s a Keto kale shake!

For those of you on a Keto diet, this is a great keto smoothie for you!

Coming in at only 7.9g of net carbs, you have plenty of net carb headroom for the rest of your meals.

This is due to kale being high in fiber compared to its overall carbohydrate content, and using a high-quality low-carb protein powder. As above, I recommend Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Double Rich Chocolate.

It’s low in carbs and a great-tasting protein powder.

Raspberries are also great for those on a Keto diet, because they are quite low in net carbs when you compare them to the sweetness and flavor they provide to smoothie recipes.

If you are looking for other Keto-friendly smoothies, I recommend checking out this page, or specifically, check out this great-tasting chocolate raspberry protein shake and this amazing Philadelphia cream cheese smoothie with berries, which tastes like dessert!

It’s a versatile kale shake recipe

This healthy raspberry smoothie is also really versatile.

If you want more kale, you can throw more in knowing that it won’t add a great deal to the calories in the final smoothie.

Just bear in mind that kale has quite a strong earthy flavor!

If you love raspberries, you can also go ahead and add quite a few of them without drastically affecting the calorie content.

That’s part of the reason they are great for a berry weight loss smoothie!

Just be sure not to go too crazy if you are on a Keto diet as, although raspberries are relatively low-carb, the net carbs will add up.

It’s a frozen berry smoothie

You don’t need to keep fresh raspberries on hand when making this raspberry smoothie!

Although you absolutely can use fresh raspberries, you can absolutely use frozen ones if it’s easier.

The great thing about frozen raspberries is that you can just use them as-and-when you need them, and save the rest for later.

One tip when using frozen raspberries in a smoothie is to blend them before the other ingredients.

This will help them to blend properly into the final raspberry protein shake!

It’s a frozen kale smoothie

You can also use either fresh or frozen kale in this smoothie.

I used fresh kale, but arguably frozen kale would be better, as it will blend more easily.

But either approach will work in this kale drink.

The other great thing about using frozen kale is that, being cold, it can help to pull the flavors together nicely.

It can also take a bit of the edge off of the earthy kale flavor.

How to make a super healthy berry kale smoothie for weight loss

It’s super easy to make this kale berry smoothie, as it only has 3 ingredients (and water).

You can use fresh or frozen ingredients and use chocolate protein powder you might have on-hand.

Ingredients

Kale – You can use fresh or frozen kale.

Raspberries – You can use fresh or frozen raspberries. If you are using frozen raspberries, I recommend you blend them first, creating a kind of crushed ice of raspberries. This can help them blend better into the final kale protein shake.

Chocolate protein powder – As mentioned above, not all chocolate protein powders are created equal! You need to get one that is not only good for you, but also has a really good chocolate flavor. If you don’t, you might end up with a bland kale protein smoothie! Not good! I recommend Optimum Nutrition Double Rich Chocolate because not only does it have a great chocolate flavor, but it is also a high-quality protein that gym-goers tend to really like.

Steps

Firstly, prepare the ingredients for the weight loss kale smoothie.
